South Korea Slaughters All Seoul Poultry To Prevent Bird Flu

According to reports, South Korean officials have confirmed that the entire poultry population in the capital of Seoul has been slaughtered.  This was done to prevent the spread of the H5N1 bird flu virus..Seoul (ChattahBox) – According to reports, South Korean officials have confirmed that the entire poultry population in the capital of Seoul has been slaughtered. This was done to prevent the spread of the H5N1 bird flu virus.

There were around 15,000 poultry killed in total, which officials stated was absolutely necessary in order to control and prevent the spread of the H5N1 bird flu virus.

From here, the plan is to prevent any live poultry from entering Seoul to keep the capital free of any new outbreaks.

Over the weekend, a second outbreak of the H5N1 bird flu virus was reported in Seoul in less than a week. With the total number of outbreaks in South Korea now at 31, it is clear that officials do not want to take any chances of allowing the outbreaks to continue.
