A new study has shown that an experimental vaccine patch developed by Iomai Corp. helps protect people against traveler's diarrhea.New York (ChattahBox) – A new study has shown that an experimental vaccine patch developed by Iomai Corp. helps protect people against traveler’s diarrhea.

The disease impacts millions of people each and every year.

The results of their clinical trial reveal that the patch is effective.

In total, 170 travelers were used in the study, they were going to Mexico and Guatemala.

Results showed that 3 out of the 59 people who were given the vaccine suffered moderate to severe diarrhea, compared to 23 of 111 who were given a placebo to take.

2% of those who used the patch got a severe form of the illness, compared to 11% who did not use the patch.

The study has been published in the Lancet.
