Just a few days ago, the CDC reported that 228 people in 23 states had been sickened by the salmonella tomatoes.

These numbers were increased Monday to 277 people and 28 states.

This comes as the FDA continues to try and find a direct source of the salmonella contamination.

The belief right now is that the salmonella contamination began in either Florida or Mexico.

43 people have been hospitalized, but no human deaths have been reported yet.
