The new study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, looked at 41,000 men and 86,000 women who all drank coffee. None had any history of cardiovascular disease or cancer when the study started.

The men were followed for 18 years, and the women for 24 years.

They found that women who drank two to three cups of coffee every day had a 25% lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease compared to those who did not drink coffee.

In terms of men, this lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease was not seen quite as much.

Esther Lopez-Garcia of the Havard School of Public Health, the lead author of the study, reported that “long-term, regular coffee consumption has several beneficial health effects.”

What was noted was that even six cups of coffee each and every day is perfectly healthy and can help you live longer.
