A new study has linked depression to the risk of developing diabetes..Boston (ChattahBox) – A new study has linked depression to the risk of developing diabetes.

The study was carried out by Johns Hopkins University and looked closely at those suffering from depression.

Researchers found that those who are often depressed have up to a 43% increased risk of type two diabetes, compared to those who do not suffer from depression.

Diabetes, it appears, can now be attributed to depression, on top of obesity and other risk factors.

The more severe the depression, the higher the risk was seen for diabetes.

The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
