FDA Advisory Panel Recommends Enbrel For Use In Children

A U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel has come out and stated that they recommended the psoriasis drug, Enbrel, for use in children.Boston (ChattahBox) – A U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel has come out and stated that they recommended the psoriasis drug, Enbrel, for use in children.

The FDA advisory panel voted 7-5 in favor of approving the drug for use in children with moderate-to-severe forms the disease.

Studies have shown that the drug is effective in treating children, even though panel expressed concern over an increased risk of infection and malignancy.

Typically, the FDA follows the advice of their advisory panels.

There are over 17,000 children who suffer from moderate-to-severe psoriasis in the U.S. alone.
