New York Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas R. Frieden has revealed that HIV testing may become routine in the Bronx.New York (ChattahBox) – New York Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas R. Frieden has revealed that HIV testing may become routine in the Bronx.

The idea behind the new plan is to make it a routine to test every single person that comes into the emergency room.

By doing this, they believe that they can allow people to be more on the up and up about whether or not they are infected.

As of right now, a written consent is needed from the patient to do an HIV test.

A new system being proposed would require just an oral consent.
