Researchers focused their study on retail chains such as Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart, and others which now have in-store health clinics.

Researchers looked over 1.3 million visits from 2000 to 2007.

Researchers believe that because of their popularity, the number of these clinics will increase from 1,000, to around 6,000 by 2011.

The majority to go these clinics were between the ages of 18 to 44, with over 60% of them not having a primary care doctor.

The study has been published in the journal Health Affairs.
