CDC Says HIV Infections More Likely In Black Men, Women

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has put out a new release in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report which shows that HIV infections occur most often in black men and women compared to whites and hispanics......Boston (ChattahBox) – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has put out a new release in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report which shows that HIV infections occur most often in black men and women compared to whites and Hispanics.

The CDC reported that the most common groups for new HIV infections were both white gay men, as well as young black men.

56,000 new HIV cases have been confirmed to this point in the year 2006.

Out of those, 46% of these new infections were made up of black men and black women.

Young black men aged 13 to 29 led all as they were twice as likely as young white men, and young Hispanic men to be infected with HIV.

The CDC also stated that black women were 15 times more likely to develop HIV than white women.
