The Merck & Co cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat vulvar and vaginal cancer......Boston (ChattahBox) – The Merck & Co cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat vulvar and vaginal cancer.

Back in 2006, Gardasil was approved to prevent women from getting HPV, which is the leading cause of cervical cancer.

Merck hash now succeeded in getting Gardasil expanded for other uses.

Following positive results from trials and such, the FDA approved Gardasil to treat vaginal, as well as vulvar cancer.
