The new report aims to raise awareness among both patients and doctors.  They need to be aware that these types of leg pains could turn deadly if ignored.

Typically, with minor leg pain, it is ignored by the patient, doctor, or both.

This leg pain though may be the sign of the start of a blood clot, known as a silent killer.

Dr. Steven Galson has estimated that every year 600,000 Americans form these blood clots, with 100,000 Americans dying from them.

Symptoms include pain in the calf area of the leg, red colored skin, swelling, pain, etc.

If you just had surgery and/or are over 65, you are at high risk.

Others at high risk include those who take birth control pills, or do not move their legs for a long time.
