Doctors or nurses usually give patients who leave an ER a set of instructions to follow, such as a treatment plan.

This new study though has found that once patients leave, many are confused over what they have to do.

The study looked at 140 patients and caretakers from a Michigan ER.

They discovered that 78% of these people left the ER completely confused.

They didn’t realize they were confused until after they had left the ER, making matters worse.

This confusion was witnessed even if the doctor wrote out instructions.
