A New York City hospital, the Staten Island University Hospital, has reached a settlement worth $89 million in a major fraud case.......New York (ChattahBox) – A New York City hospital, the Staten Island University Hospital, has reached a settlement worth $89 million in a major fraud case.

The Staten Island University Hospital is gong to have to dish out $89 million, with the majority of it going to federal and state governments.

The federal government filed the lawsuit against the hospital in Brooklyn.

They stated that the hospital was guilty of fraud, ripping off Medicare, Medicaid, as well as the military health insurance programs from the federal and state governments.

The hospital has admitted to fraud, and will pay out millions of dollars because of it.

As part of the settlement, they will pay out $74 million to federal health care systems, as well as $12.4 million to state Medicaid programs, and other payments.
