Cervical cancer continues to cause major problems in rural developing countries.

This is due to the fact that they have a hard time getting women to be screened for the cervical cancer.

A new test may help though, according to a trial.

The new test is known as careHPV, and comes from Hybrid Capture 2 technology.  It was tested on 2,400 women in rural China, and was accurate 90% of the time.

It traces strands of DNA from the human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer.

The study on the device has been published in The Lancet Oncology.
