MacArthur Genius Grants Awarded To Four Doctors

This week, 25 recipients were named to receive genius grants from the MacArthur foundation, with four receiving special recognition..Boston (ChattahBox) – This week, 25 recipients were named to receive genius grants from the MacArthur foundation, with four receiving special recognition.

The $500,000 genius grant was given to doctors who made a major impact.

The first to be recognized was 39-year old Regina Benjamin for the launch of the Bayou La Batre Rural Health Clinic in Alabama.

Up next was 58-year old Wafaa El-Sadr, who did great things in setting up monitors to make sure drugs were being taken by tuberculosis patients.

43-year old Peter Pronovost was awarded for the work put in to diminish the risk of infections at hospitals and improve safety.

56-year old Diane Meier was recognized as well for her work with severely ill patients.
