Not All Prostate Cancer Patients Need Hormone Therapy

A new study has shown that hormone therapy may not be effective for all prostate cancer patients........  .Washington (ChattahBox) – A new study has shown that hormone therapy may not be effective for all prostate cancer patients.

A new study was carried out on 1,700 early-stage localized prostate cancer patients between the age of 70 and 91.

For the study, all had one of two types of treatments.

The first group received either hormone and brachytherapy treatments

The second group received just brachythreapy treatments between 1991 and 2005.

Men who had early-stage prostate cancer, and went through hormone therapy before brachytherapy increased their risk of death by 20%.

The study was presented at the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology annual meeting in Boston, MA.
