Data from a new clinical trial has been released early by Pfizer and Boerhinger Ingelheim showing that their lung drug inhaler Spiriva is safe..... .Washington (ChattahBox) – Data from a new clinical trial has been released early by Pfizer and Boerhinger Ingelheim showing that their lung drug inhaler Spiriva is safe.

Earlyer in the week, a study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, and stated that the drug increased the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death from heart disease.

The drug Spiriva, which comes as an inhaler, is perfectly safe according to this new study.

It has found that the drug actually cuts down on the heart risk in patients.

The clinical trial was done over 4 years, and focused on around 6,000 patients.

The study found zero evidence that the lung drug increased the risk of death, heart attack, stroke, etc.

This new study will be presented in October at the European Respiratory Society meeting in Berlin.
