- Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco have made it clear that the clinical trials which are most likely to see the light of day, are those that are most positive..... .Washington (ChattahBox) – Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco have made it clear that the clinical trials which are most likely to see the light of day, are those that are most positive.

The researchers found that many trials used by the FDA to approve drugs never get published.

Researchers analyzed drugs approved by the FDA from 1998 and the year 2000.  They found that 43% of the trials submitted were published overall, which is low.

76% of the pivotal trials, key to showing the risks and benefits of the drugs, were published.

They found a clear trend though, that favorable studies were more likely to be published than those that were more negative.
