Energy drinks are very popular among the younger crowd, and are used as both performance enhancers, as well as diet supplements.

A new study, led by Roland Griffiths of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, has highlighted just how dangerous these drinks are.

They found that energy drinks contain 14 times the caffeine found in a can of soda, or a cup of coffee.

They are linked to a high risk of caffeine intoxication, which causes anxiety, rapid heart beat, restlessness, tremors, insomnia, and even death in some cases.

The warning is to avoid these energy drinks at all costs if possible.
