The study was led by Dr. Jennifer O’Loughlin of the Univerity of Montreal.

It looked at a total of 1,800 kids aged 10 to 12-years old, who were all exposed to secondhand smoke.

What they found was that exposure to secondhand smoke made 5% of them addicted to nicotine, even though they never smoked themselves.

The kids were found to have all of the symptoms of nicotine addiction.

The study has been published in the journal Addictive Behaviors.
