Researchers have stated that they have found a genetic link between obesity, and colon cancer...Washington (ChattahBox) – Researchers have stated that they have found a genetic link between obesity, and colon cancer.

The discovery was made by researchers from the University of Alabama Comprehensive Cancer Center.

They found that a variation of the gene ADIPOQ makes people 30% less likely to develop colon cancer
.
This gene variant is linked to the development of the fat hormone adiponectin.

This is the first time that the belief that weight gain going hand-in-hand with colon cancer has truly been challenged.

The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
