University College London researchers have come out and stated that workers who go out on sick leave are more likely to suffer a premature death...Washington (ChattahBox) – University College London researchers have come out and stated that workers who go out on sick leave are more likely to suffer a premature death.

Researchers checked out the records of 6,478 British civil servants from 1985 to 1988, and then checked their health again in 2004.

Workers who went out on certified sick leave faced a higher risk of death overall compared to those who did not.

Male and female workers who left work due to sick leave one or more times in a three-year span faced a 66% increased risk of premature death.
