Nobel Prize In Medicine Awarded To Three Europeans

Three Europeans, two French and one German researcher, have been awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine.................Washington (ChattahBox) – Three Europeans, two French and one German researcher, have been awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine.

The three European researchers who won the Nobel Prize in Medicine include Harald zur Hausen of Germany, as well as Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, and Luc Montagnier, both from France.

Barre-Sonoussi, and Montagnier, won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the discovery of HIV, which causes AIDS.

Zur Hausen, was credited for the discovery of HPV,  which is the leading cause of cervical cancer.
