The study, led by Dr. Sarah L. Cutrona of Harvard Medical School, focused on a survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2004.

Many kids were found to receive free drug samples which were later found to be unsafe.

They found that 10%, or 1 out of every 10 U.S. children received free drug samples from doctors in 2004.

500,000 kids received samples of drugs which later had safety warnings added to them, including Advair, Adderall, Strattera, as well as Elidel.

The fear is that many of these free drug samples are of drugs that are unproven and very new, putting kids at risk.
