54-year old Karl Merk is on the road to recovery after receiving a double arm transplant, and doctors cannot believe his progress.

The man is doing absolutely fantastic, and should be fully recovered within a few years.

The man lost both of his arms just below the shoulder in an accident which had to do with farming.

Following the accident, he decided to undergo a procedure on July 25-26 for a double arm transplant.

In the procedure, 40 medical doctors carried out a 15-hour operation on the man.

Doctors have announced that he has movement in his arms once again.

It is expected though that it will take a little time before he has movement of his hands.

He should return home within the next 4 to 6 weeks barring any setbacks.
