The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is looking over the safety of the anti-smoking drug Chantix..............Washington (ChattahBox) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is looking over the safety of the anti-smoking drug Chantix.

Chantix is manufactured and marketed by Pfizer, and has been linked to many health events, and even deaths in some cases.

On Wednesday, a report was released by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices.

The report revealed that there have been over a thousand health events related to Chantix in 2008 alone.

The FDA has admitted to these events being reported to them, and is reviewing the safety of the drug.

They will check to see if there is any need to change the warning labels of the drug.
