The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed in a new report that there are 3 million kids in the U.S. who now suffer from a food allergy...............Boston (ChattahBox) – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed in a new report that there are 3 million kids in the U.S. who now suffer from a food allergy.

The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics put out a report which showcased an 18% increase in food allergies among U.S. kids over the past decade.

The numbers were taken from 1997 to 2007, to find the 18% increase in food and digestive allergies.

Breaking down the numbers further, it comes out to 4 out of every 100 children having a food allergy or digestive allergy.

These 3 million kids face an increased risk of asthma and other diseases.

The number of hospital discharges from food allergies increased as well as it was at 2,600 each year in the 1990s, and umped up to 9,500 each year more recently.

90% of all food allergies are linked to foods including soy, fish, nuts, eggs, milk, and wheat.
