The study was carried out by researchers at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Hydrogen sulfide gas is a smell that comes from bacteria in the human colon and is just like rotten eggs.

The new study though has found that this terrible smell actually helps regulate blood pressure.

They conducted the study on two groups of mice.  One group was missing the enzyme CSE which makes hydrogen sulfide, while the other group was not.

The mice that were not abel to make hydrogen sulfide saw their blood pressure increase in big spikes.

The other group saw their blood pressure remain more constant and regulated.
