New Leaflets For Students Recommends An Orgasm A Day For Health

July 13, 2009

UK (ChattahBox) – A controversial new initiative in Britain has begun sending out leaflets to schools, telling teens that they have as much right to a healthy, happy sex life as adults, and addressing the health benefits of orgasm.

The leaflets released by NHS promoted the use of safe sex or masturbation as a way of promoting the use of pleasure to increase healthy sexual awareness, and as a hope of reducing STD’s and teen pregnancy by removing the stigma on sex in teens.

But many are saying that it is promoting underage sex, and that it will likely have the opposite effect.

“If the NHS wants to promote a healthy heart, as it says it does in this leaflet, it should put the money i nto reducing smoking and alcohol,” Dr Trevor Stammers of the group Family and Youth Concern was quoted in the Daily Mail.

“’Underage sex is as dangerous as underage drink and usually leads to sexual ill-health.”

But the leader of the project, Jon Slack, disagrees, saying that he believes wholly that the promotion of pleasure as a part of the sexual experience only adds to a young person’s knowledge of the act. He says that it is meant to show them that sex can be a wonderful thing if done when you are ready and responsible.

The leaflets have been handed to students, school staff, health staff, and parents.
