Researchers Say OK To That Cup Of Joe

August 3, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Scientists are now saying that coffee could protect against a number of conditions, including liver disease and Parkinson’s.

It is a surprising turn of opinion, given the fact that studies previously said that there were a number of health risks associated with drinking coffee.

But according to a report done by the LA Times, that risk was actually posed by smoking by those same test subjects, not coffee.

It may not be being seen as a medicinal treatment, but it is still being recommended.

“Now we have a more balanced view. We’re not telling people to drink it for health. But it is a good beverage choice,” Harvard researcher Rob van Dam was quoted as saying.

Coffee should still be taken in moderation due tot he caffeine, but at least we know it isn’t actually bad for us.
