The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has stated that Pluto will join a new class for dwarf planets called Plutoids..New York (ChattahBox) – The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has stated that Pluto will join a new class for dwarf planets called Plutoids.

Pluto was demoted not too long ago as it was found to be too small to be considered a full planet.

Pluto is not an actual planet though, but is instead considered a dwarf planet by definition.

The dwarf planet is going to now be defined by a new class called Plutoids.

These objects were once known as trans-Neptunians, but are now Plutoids. As of right now the two Plutoids are Eris and Pluto.
