The Large Hadron Collider is located in Geneva, Switzerland, and will turn on for the first time Wednesday.

The device is going to be used to try to re-create the Big Bang, and to understand the origins of our universe.

It is not expected that a collision will take place Wednesday, as it will run at at 1/10 its full capacity when it starts.

Many scientists are stating though that the Large Hadron Collider is a bad idea, and could create a black hole that ends the world as we know it.

CERN scientists have been receiving death threats, and other threats to try to stop the start of the device.
