This past Monday, the NASA Messenger spacecraft made another fly-by past Mercury, revealing plenty of new information on the surface of the planet..Boston (ChattahBox) – This past Monday, the NASA Messenger spacecraft made another fly-by past Mercury, revealing plenty of new information on the surface of the planet.

The NASA Messenger made its first fly-by this past January revealing around 20% of the surface.

This latest fly-by had it getting within 125 miles of the surface of Mercury, covering another 30%.

The NASA Messenger is due to make one more fly-by past Mercury, before settling into orbit around the planet on March 2011.

The many images taken revealed a variety of things, such as craters, a pattern of rays, and cliffs.
