Hybrid Clone Research Come To An End

February 3, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – According to US researchers, the idea of human clones being developed from animal embryos is not a realistic one.

However, they do believe that the theory of human clones is still a valid one, and have cited this research as proof that the concept is very possible.

The idea that animals may be used to create cloned humans has been a popular theory for several years now. But after extensive research, they found that cells did not develop properly within the eggs, and it was finally decided that it couldn’t be done.

“For the last decade, we’ve carried out literally hundreds of experiments trying to create patient-specific stem cells using animal eggs,” Dr. Robert Lanza, of Advanced Cell Technology, said.

“We got beautiful little hybrid embryos, but it didn’t work no matter how hard we tried.”
