Stephen Hawking: Leave Aliens Alone!

April 25, 2010

(ChattahBox) – Stephen Hawking has finished his three year project of a documentary for Discovery. In it, he speaks about his belief in extra terrestrials, and warns against trying to have any contact with them.

Hawking has long since spoken about his belief in alien life, a view that is becoming more commonly accepted in the scientific world since 1995, when new planets began to be discovered through the galaxy. More than 450 have been found since.

“To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational,” he explains, pointing out the believed 100 billion galaxies in the universe.

While most would likely be simple animals or microbes, he says, intelligent life likely exists.

According to him, that is the problem.

“We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.

“If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”

Stephen Hawking’s new documentary begins May 9 at 9PM EST on Discovery.

The chances that there might be “bad aliens” out there trying to find another planet to take over, however i can’t help thinking, when we get there, we are the ones that are intelligent enough to reach their home world, and out of our nature: curiosity we can’t help taking some of the “samples” to do experiments on them, discovering what that planet will have to offer and if there’s any resource we can bring back, our can we move some humans to live there, what food that planet can provide, we animals we can kill to feed ourselves, what animals we can kill to cure disease and can some become our pets, or lock up into the zoo, are there trees also so we can trop them down to build houses? has anyone ever come cross the thought we are the “bad aliens”? just look like we are doing now to earth and other lives on earth.
