He managed to do something truly special on Monday night, throwing a no-hitter against the Kansas City Royals in Fenway Park.

The Red Sox got the win over the Royals 7-0 in a game which was all about one man, the guy on the mound. Lester has proven to be an absolute inspiration for all those around him, players and fans alike.

Lester ended with 9 strike-outs, as well as only 2 walks, one in the second inning and one in the ninth inning.

The last two no-hitters in MLB were by Red Sox pitchers.

Red Sox pitcher Clay Bucholz threw one back on September 1, 2007 against the Baltimore, Orioles at Fenway Park.

Lester is the first Red Sox lefty to throw a no-hitter since July 14, 1956 when Mel Parnell did it.
