They faced the Detroit Pistons in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 48 hours after losing their first home playoff game. So what did the team do? They came out and performed the way a championship-caliber team in the NBA is supposed to perform, taking game 3 from the Pistons in Detroit.

Much was made about the fact that Boston has been sub-par at best on the road in the playoffs this year, going 0-6 up to Saturday night.

They came out firing though with an amazing level of aggression and intensity. This was not a one-man show, this was the Boston Celtics making a statement with team defense, team offense, and team basketball.

The Celtics walked into the Palace at Auburn Hills on Saturday against a Detroit team who has been playing some tremendous basketball, and they beat them in every aspect.

Rajon Rondo and Sam Cassell took over at the point, Garnett and Perkins controlled the inside, as Ray Allen and Paul Pierce played tremendous offense and defense.

The Pistons had no answer as Chauncey Billups was forced to play only around half of the game, letting Rodney Stuckey play the other half.

Now the pressure shifts on the back of Detroit. If Boston can keep up that intensity they had Saturday night, they could go back home to Boston up 3-1 with a chance to go to the NBA Finals.

It may not happen just yet though, as Billups and Tayshaun Prince are not likely to go 3 for 17 again.
