New Contract Makes Eli Manning NFL’s Highest Paid Player

August 5, 2009

(ChattahBox) — 2007 Super Bowl MVP Quarterback Eli Manning is going to get paid, big time. The former top overall selection in the 2004 NFL draft, has agreed to a new six-year deal with the New York Giants, that will make him the highest paid player in the NFL.  The $97 million contract extension gives him an average salary of roughly $15.3 million a year, the highest average annual salary in the NFL. Not bad at all!  $35 million of the deal is reportedly guaranteed.  Manning had one season remaining on his existing six-year, approximately $45 million contract.
