NHL star Patrick Kane arrested for robbing cab driver

August 9, 2009

(ChattahBox) – Patrick Kane may find allegedly dropping the gloves after a cab ride, could be more than a five minute trip to the penalty box.  According to Buffalo police, the star winger for the Chicago Blackhawks and his cousin, James Kane were arrested on Sunday after getting into a dispute over a fare with a cab driver in Buffalo, New York.  Local media reported that the two Kanes paid the driver $15 for a $13.80 fare and were angered when the driver did not have proper change as he dropped them off in an area in Buffalo known for its nightlife.

The Kanes, reportedly took back their fare by force and the cab driver reportedly suffered cuts to his face, and his eyeglasses were damaged after apparently being punched in the face and head in the incident, which occurred at about 4 a.m. EDT Sunday, said police spokesman Michael DeGeorge.  Kane, 20 who was born in Buffalo, and his 21-year-old cousin, were charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services. Patrick entered a not guilty plea through his attorney in court Sunday morning. If he is guilty he can always hope the courts are as lenient in handing out punishment as the ‘see know evil’ NHL commissioner and his stooges seem to be this bitter hockey fan.

even if he was drunk, i don’t think that will help him if the cab driver takes him to court
