Brett Favre runs another reverse – joining Minnesota Vikings after all

August 18, 2009

(ChattahBox) –Oh Brett Favre what are you doing man?  Instead of making a decision and sticking to it, he has waffled once again and will come out of retirement to play for the Minnesota Vikings, and coach Brad Childress.  The twice-retired Favre had 10 fumbles and 22 interceptions last season, but like many great athletes, he wants one more chance to win a championship or at least make a run. Many though doubt that Favre, who’s 39, can come close to matching the athletic skills he used to display. reports they believe a deal could be done as early as Tuesday night and that Vikings head coach Brad Childress began informing the team that Favre will join them tomorrow.  I might have felt differently about this had Favre just signed with the Vikings weeks ago after testing his arm to join them for training camp.  Now one wonders what has suddenly changed after this looked to be put to rest?

This is great news. This will go badly for Favre, and it will be entertaining every step of the way. Can we get Fran Tarkenton’s opinion on this? He already dropped several haymakers on Brett this spring. The Browns-Vikings week 1 game just got a hell of a lot more compelling.

I hope he has enough to pull out a final Super Bowl like John Elway…

I hope Favre steps it up this season and does well for his team.
