Ben Roethlisberger Says Woman Making Rape Claim ‘Unstable Sex Addict’

August 25, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Ben Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, was previously named in a civil suit by a woman who claims that he sexually assaulted her. But Roethlisberger has decided that the best defense is a good offense.

Andrea McNulty was apparently given a few options from the quarterback, one of which was to drop the lawsuit, admit that she was a ‘sex addict’, and apologize. Another was to get a psychiatric evaluation to see if she was competent to file a suit.

Both options were ignored by McNulty, and it isn’t surprising. The defense was a little ridiculous, no matter what it is that happened that night.

The full 51 pages also accused her of having “severe mental health problems”.

McNulty’s lawyer has chosen to ignore the motion, claiming that it is obvious that the intent of the filings were “to intimidate the plaintiff and dissuade her from pursuing her rights in court in this very serious matter,” Mr. Dunlap wrote. He said it also was an attempt to persuade him to “abandon plaintiff and her case or risk personal liability.”

“This conduct not only warrants discipline and sanctions, but warrants denial of the privilege of practicing law in the state of Nevada,” McNulty’s attorney, Calvin R.X. Dunlap, said.
