Allen Iverson’s Grizzly days in Memphis are over

November 17, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Allen Iverson’s leave of absence, has turned into a permanent vacation from the Memphis Grizzlies.  I think he played like a total of 3 games before realizing he wasn’t happy coming off the bench even though he was coming back from an injury.  Memphis announced Monday that the team has ended its one-year contract with Iverson in what it called a mutual agreement.
Under the agreement according to ESPN, Iverson a 10-time All-Star and former league MVP, who spells team with an ‘i’ will receive only a fraction of the $3 million he was scheduled to earn. If he clears waivers, he will become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday night. Perhaps luckily for him, the ever-eager, New York Knicks and their president of basketball operations Donnie Walsh told the New York Daily News on Monday night that the team will explore the possibility of signing Iverson.
