Wii Sells More Than PS3, Xbox 360 Combined In April

According to the market research firm NPD, the Nintendo Wii managed to sell more consoles than the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined in April, with an overall growth in video game sales of 47% from the same period last year.Boston (ChattahBox) – According to the market research firm NPD, the Nintendo Wii managed to sell more consoles than the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined in April, with an overall growth in video game sales of 47% from the same period last year.

Sales for the month of April were pushed by the top game, Grand Theft Auto IV on the PS3 and Xbox 360, followed by the number two release, Mario Kart Wii.

Nintendo managed to sell 714,000 Wii consoles in the month of April, compared to just 188,000 Xbox 360 consoles, and 187,000 PS3 consoles, a dip from a month earlier.

Nintendo also sold 1.1 million copies of Mario Kart Wii.
