NASA confirmed on Monday that the space shuttle Discovery will be ready to launch on May 31, carrying out its mission to the International Space Station.Orlando (ChattahBox) – NASA confirmed on Monday that the space shuttle Discovery will be ready to launch on May 31, carrying out its mission to the International Space Station.

The NASA space shuttle Discovery will have the main task of bringing the largest piece of the Japanese space laboratory Kibo to the International Space Station.

Beyond that they will also have many maintenance tasks and other repair jobs to do during their mission.

NASA confirmed that the launch is set for 5:02 p.m. EDT on May 31st.

From there it will take a few days to get up to the International Space Station before the crew can get to work.

Discovery will be launching from Kennedy Space Center in Florid, and according to NASA, everything is perfect as of right now to meet that launch date.
