OLPC Unveils XO 2 Laptop For Under $100

The One Laptop Per Child has unveiled the new XO 2 laptop, which will include two-screens, which feature touch-screen technology..New York (ChattahBox) – The One Laptop Per Child has unveiled the new XO 2 laptop, which will include two-screens, which feature touch-screen technology.

The new XO 2 laptop will be a bit different than the original XO laptop, featuring a unified display which has two touch-screens, allowing users to use it as an e-book or a full-out laptop.

It will be able to store up to 500 e-books as well, allowing multiple students to view it at once.

he founder of OLPC, Nicholas Negroponte, lifted the curtain on the new XO 2 laptop at a conference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The hope is that it will catch on much faster than the original XO laptop, and will have a $75 price tag. It is expected to be ready for launch in 2010.

The OLPC group has only sold 600,000 XO laptops to date, way behind their original estimates.
