Activision is seeking to win back the market share gained by Rock Band on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PS2 with this release.

Guitar Hero World Tour will go for a more realistic approach with a drum set that will be more advanced with the inclusion of new cymbals for players.

Users will also be able to battle it out four-on-four in an online battle of the bands. They can also take part in bands and create their own songs for the world to hear with the Guitar Hero instruments.

There is no word on pricing or anything like that for the new Guitar Hero, but some artists have been confirmed including Van Halen, the Eagles, Linkin Park, and Sublime.
