Apple Shoots For Mass Market With $199 3G iPhone

Apple CEO Steve Jobs made his big WWDC 2008 keynote speech on Monday, showcasing that Apple isi clearly going for the mass market with the new 3G iPhone, which will be priced starting at $199.Washington (ChattahBox) – Apple CEO Steve Jobs made his big WWDC 2008 keynote speech on Monday, showcasing that Apple isi clearly going for the mass market with the new 3G iPhone, which will be priced starting at $199.

Apple is launching the new and improved 3G iPhone on July 11 in over 20 countries. Within the next two months that launch will spread to over 70 countries according to Jobs.

The new 3G iPhone does not have much in terms of new features, but does run on the faster 3G network. It will also be a bit thinner, and feature GPS support.

The big news is the price, as Apple is going mass market with the 8GB model selling for $199 while the 16GB model will retail for $299.

In early July, the updated iPhone software will launch for full Microsoft Office support, App Store, etc.

    Make it available on the Vzw network and that’ll be a major upgrade! I guess if my work phone went thru ATT i wouldn’t care, but it doesn’t!!!
