Shuttle Discovery Undocks From International Space Station

The NASA space shuttle Discovery has completed all of its tasks and undocked from the International Space Station as of Wednesday morning.New York (ChattahBox) – The NASA space shuttle Discovery has completed all of its tasks and undocked from the International Space Station as of Wednesday morning.

The Discovery undocked from the space station at 7:42 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

Discovery astronauts spent 9 days in orbit carrying out tasks such as installing a portion of the Japanese space laboratory Kibo.

For the trip back home, Discovery will have a new passenger in U.S. astronaut Garrett Reisman.

He was replaced on the space station by 45-year old Gregory Chamitoff.

The Discovery shuttle is set to land at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Saturday.
