NASA Awards Contract To Oceaneering For Moon Spacesuits

NASA has awarded a contract to Oceaneering International Inc. to make 109 spacesuits which will be used for trips to the Moon and the International Space Station.New York (ChattahBox) – NASA has awarded a contract to Oceaneering International Inc. to make 109 spacesuits which will be used for trips to the Moon and the International Space Station.

The company is based in Houston, Texas and topped the competition which included the Exploration Systems & Technology to win the contract.

Mark Gittleman, VP and GM of Oceaneering Space Systems stated “Our team is excited about this tremendous opportunity to assist NASA in pushing the boundaries of space exploration.”

These next generation spacesuits will be called EVA or Extra Vehicular Activity. 109 suits will be made in total as the contract is worth $745 million.
