Microsoft Acquires Navic Networks, TV Ad Company

Microsoft made the announcement on Wednesday that they have acquired TV advertising company Navic Networks.Boston (ChattahBox) – Microsoft made the announcement on Wednesday that they have acquired TV advertising company Navic Networks.

Navic Networks is a specialist in the field of providing tools to manage advertising inventory for interactive TV. Microsoft will receive their services as well as the media placement platform.

This allows Microsoft a whole new revenue stream in a growing market.

Interactive TV is gaining in popularity with the growth of use of cable set-top-boxes and satellite TV.

Brian McAndrews, senior vice president of the Advertiser and Publisher Solutions Group at Microsoft put out a statement saying “Television media represents the largest percentage of advertisers and agencies’ media budget today.”

Microsoft did not release the terms of the deal.
